Christmas in Victoria 2010

Here's the plane ride to Victoria. Thank God for WestJet TV's and the cartoon network! Parker amused himself for nearly an hour! Finally the kid finally hit a brick wall and slept! Parker is the Energizer Bunny - I don't know how he does it!

When we arrived in Victoira, we headed to Auntie Mar's house, who was having a Christmas Eve dinner party and invited a few couples, including my own parents over dinner!

Overall the weather in Victoria was about +5 C! Pretty tropical compared to Winterpeg! It was great, but a bit weird not to have snow for Christmas!

Here is Lori, Auntie Mar and Carolyn!

Parker loved the Bouncin' Tigger Auntie Mar had!

Here is Carolyn bouncing Parker on the air mattress in her basement! Parker actually got some air under his butt a few times! He was having a blast!

Christmas morning at the Rieberger/Walker residence! Parker got a Black and Decker tool set from Claire and Jeff! He was fascinated with the tape measure - of all things! I tried so hard to get him to wear his safety goggles to get a picture - but it wasn't to be!

For Jeffrey, we bought him a Manitoba Moose sweatshirt with his last name and the number 1 on it. For Parker, he had the matching long-sleeved shirt with Edinger and a 1/2 on the back! Quite the cute little couple! Oh yeah - Parker LOVED Jeffrey! They played hockey, they wrestled - Parker had a thing where he would grab Jeff's legs to try and take him down...of course Jeff would play along! It was supper cute! I think Parker would have stayed in Victoria just to play with Jeffrey! I sure hope they come to Winnipeg this summer! Hint, hint :).

Here is Shawn, Parker and Jeff assembling Jeff's Mouse Trap game - the game sure is a classic!

This is where you would find Parker most of the time - playing hockey in Carolyn and Kevin's driveway! He was obsessed with putting on the goalie equipment! And of course he stopped every shot that came close to him! Geez, who am I kidding - he was worse that a sieve! He had a blast nonetheless! Get a load of the Shawn and Jeffrey action shot of the two of them racing to the goal! Parker of course stopped the shot...NOT...notice he's not even paying attention in the background! Plus, Parker stood inside the net...so if the kid DID stop a ball....Shawn or Jeff would have scored anyhow!

Look at these turkeys! Go Claire and Jeff go! Parker was trampoline-aphobic!

Christmas at Vanessa's Cont

Here is Grandma trying to steal my Mom's new purse...it took Lorraine a few moments to figure out what was happening! Regardless, this is a super cute picture!

Christmas at Vanessa's 2011

The fam got together at Vanessa and Richard's house for dinner and to open Christmas presents early because Shawn, Parker and I, in addition to Mom and Dad were heading to Victoria the next day! Parker learned how to bat his long eyelashes at Vanessa so that he could eat the hockey-themed gummy candy that was on top of his wrapped gift. Vanessa burst out laughing when Parker did it - that Vanessa finally gave in to Parker's request!

One of Parker's favourite gifts was a singing hockey moose decked out in a Vancouver Canucks jersey that sang the "Good Ol Hockey Game" by Stompin' Tom. Auntie Joyce and Uncle Walter bought it for him. Parker loved it - so much so, we brought it to Victoria!

Here's Parker giving his Great Grandma a kiss!

Parker in the Face Paint

Parker received some face paint in a goodie-bag at his little friends birthday party. Finally one morning he got his chance to paint his face. Unfortuantely we couldn't remove all the paint so Parker had to go to the public library with blue eyebrows!

More Hockey!

Here's Parker's official Manitoba Moose hockey puck!

Yesterday, Shawn dug out his hockey equipment for school...so you-know-who was very eager to try it on! He attempted to grab his mini hockey stick wearing Shawn's hockey gloves, needless to say, that didn't work so well! Notice Parker is wearing his "skates". He calls his Thomas the Train slippers...or fippers as Parker calls them, as skates because they are slippery on the hardwood floor.

Parkerisms:

Pizza = Peepas
Slippers = Fippers
Mitts = Mipfs

Tomorrow we are off to Victoria for Christmas. Parker has been counting the sleeps until he gets to go on a "big plane". He is also excited to play hockey with Claire and Jeffrey!

Parker and his Hockey

Shawn and I took Parker to another MB Moose game..I think this is his 4th game this season. I have been to more Moose games this season than in the last 15 years combined! We had awesome seats which helps to keep Parker's interest. We were right behind the goaltender.
In the first period, a puck hit the netting and fell on our side of the glass two seats away from where we were sitting. So the gentleman who caught the puck immediately gave it to Parker! Parker did not let go of the puck all night!
